Educational Background: B.S. in Business Administration, Minor in Marketing, Northwest Missouri State University, Graduating in 1972.
Professional Experience: Grew up on a diversified grain and livestock farm in Southwest Iowa. After graduating from college, farmed for 11 years prior to joining FNC.
Responsibilities at FNC: Today, as Area Vice-President, Larry supervises 15 farm managers. This includes land in Iowa, Minnesota, eastern North Dakota and southeastern South Dakota. Each farm management office provides full farm management service, real estate sales, consultation, appraisal, insurance, and commodity marketing to their clients.
Professional Accomplishments: -1993 Earned Accredited Farm Manager designation through the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers. Larry served as the Iowa ASFMRA State President in 2001, after serving on the state board and various officer positions throughout his career. Co-Chairman of the National Summer Meeting of the ASFMRA held in Des Moines, IA June 2001. -Served on several committees for the ASFMRA on a national level, currently serving on the National Membership Committee. -Active with the state FFA in Iowa, having served as a member of board of state board of directors for the FFA Foundation. He has also served on the Sponsoring Committee of the FFA, the fundraising arm for the organization. One of the most rewarding experiences in his career was involvement through the Iowa Chapter of the ASFMRA, a joint project with the USAID. It involved work in the Czech Republic and Slovakia consisting of three weeks of consultations to help farmers analyze business opportunities.
