Employed by Mr. Tom Crater for 3-1/2 years after graduating from Stephen F. Austin University.
Started James Houser Consulting Foresters LLC (JHCF)in 1981
In November 2013, Farmers National Company acquired the majority of the assets of JHCF and created the Forest Resource Management Division.

-Named by USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack to serve three years on the Forest Resource Coordinating Committee (FRCC) in 2011. Re-nominated in 2014 to serve an additional two years.
