Farming operations are also as diverse with growing wheat, millet, corn, dry beans, alfalfa, and sugar beets.

The diversified cropping plans allow farms to remain profitable in one crop when the market falls in another.

Development of this territory has increased over the past several years as pressure from metropolitan areas has increased causing farming and ranching operations to move farther east and investment opportunities have shown favorable returns.
